Esomeprazole is the S-isomer of Omeprazole. It reduces gastric acid secretion through a specific target mechanism of action. It is specific inhibitor of the acid pump in the parietal cell.


What is Gerdo and what is it used for?

Gerdo (Esomeprazole Magnesium USP) is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers).

Before you take Gerdo, Do not take this medicine and tell your doctor if

Before taking esomeprazole, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to similar drugs (such as lansoprazole, omeprazole); or if you have any other allergies.

Take special care while taking Gerdo

Please consult with doctor in case of pregnant woman/lactating mother and if you are having severe liver impairment.

How and when to take Gerdo

Orally once daily or as per advice of your doctor.

Take Gerdo 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meal for better result.

If you forget to take Gerdo

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

If you stop taking Gerdo

Do not stop taking Gerdo even if you are feeling well, unless your doctor tells you.

If you have any further questions on the use of the product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Possible side effects

Headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea.

How to store Gerdo

Store in a cool and dry place away from children.
