Allylestrenol is an oral Gestagen. In castrated animals, it has a potent pregnancy-maintaining action without producing hormonal side effects, in particular nomasculinisation of female foetuses.Clinical studies have indicated that Allygest stimulates the endocrine function of the trophoblast.


What is Allygest and what is it used for?

Allygest (Allylestrenol INN) is a progestogen structurally related to progesterone that has been given in threatened and recurrent miscarriage, and to prevent premature labor.

Hypersensitivity to Allylestrenol preparations.

Take special care while taking Allygest

Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, incomplete abortion, hormone-dependent carcinoma.

How and when to take Allygest

Please consult with your doctor.

If you forget to take Allygest

In case you miss a dose, use it as soon as you notice. If it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your dosing schedule. Do not use extra dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop taking Allygest

Some medicines need to be tapered or cannot be stopped immediately because of rebound effects. Please consult with your doctor for recommendations specific to your body, health and other medications that you may be using.

Possible side effects

Vomiting, Dizziness, Sleepiness, Gastrointestinal complaints.
